Rhode Island is a fascinating state. Did you know, for example, that while Democrats control our state legislature, the General Assembly is overwhelmingly anti-choice?
On a host of issues, citizens who are concerned about the status of women and girls in Rhode Island cannot always, or even sometimes, expect our legislators to do the right thing. That’s why RI NOW is vigilant in tracking legislation, lobbying members of the General Assembly and standing up for the rights of women and girls in the Ocean State through our democratic process.
We have created this legislative website to provide tools, information, and action opportunities for RI NOW members, friends, and allies. We invite you to work with us during the 2008 session of the General Assembly to help advance our legislative agenda. Together, we can make a difference for women and girls in Rhode Island.
Please contact us if you have any comments or questions about this website, our legislative agenda, or about opportunities to get more actively involved in RI NOW. We look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Carolyn Mark, RI NOW President
Beth Sundstrom, RI NOW VP Action
Josephine Martell, RI NOW Legislative Committee Chair
Laura Costa, VP Membership
Vanessa Volz, RI NOW Providence Chapter Chair
Joanna Schwartz, RI NOW Kent County Chapter Chair
